My name is Christof Hangl – and martial arts are not just a part of my life, but my absolute passion. It was 28 years ago that kickboxing sparked my enthusiasm for movement, discipline and the powerful combination of physical control and mental strength. That spark has stayed with me ever since.

At the age of 20, I first encountered Modern Self Defence (MSD) and Wing Tsun – two systems that have had a lasting impact on my understanding of self-defence. From that moment on, I have trained in them with dedication and conviction, continuing to this day without ever losing my enthusiasm.

Driven by the joy of supporting people and giving them real security, I decided to deepen my passion. I completed training as a self-defence instructor, Wing Tsun Kids instructor and women’s assertiveness instructor. These qualifications allow me to share knowledge that strengthens, protects and builds self-confidence.

Since 2017, I have taught children, teenagers and adults with great enthusiasm. I am proud to support my students on their journey towards greater self-confidence, clarity and inner strength. For me, self-defence is much more than technique – it is an attitude, an awareness, a tool for everyday life. And that is exactly what I want to pass on.

I am passionate about what I do. Every training session is an opportunity for me to motivate people to develop their abilities and show them how much strength they already have within them.

STEFANIE RIML

Cool Kids Wing Tsun instructor, freediving instructor, self-defence instructor, outdoor instructor, hiking guide

My first conscious encounter with self-defence began in 2017, prompted by preparations for a trip around the world lasting almost three years.

During that time, self-protection became not only a sporting interest for me, but an essential life skill.

In 2023, I completed my diploma training as a self-defence instructor in combination with training as an outdoor instructor. Since then, I have been a member of SAZ and have trained in Modern Self Defence (MSD) and Wing Tsun (WT) there.

Since 2025, I have been expanding my martial arts repertoire with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).

Also since 2025, I have been involved in Wing Tsun training for children, supporting them with age-appropriate work on assertiveness and self-defence.

As a freediving instructor, I also teach breathwork and deliberately combine breathing techniques with mental strength, stress regulation and physical control – in martial arts, self-defence and everyday life.

From 2026, I will begin instructor training at the “Selbst Stark” martial arts school in Telfs to further develop my technical and teaching expertise. My focus is on practical self-defence that can be used in everyday life, mental strength, and a safe, respectful training environment for children and adults.

My journey in martial arts began when I was just eight years old. That was when I started training in Wing Tsun. This first experience of martial arts sparked my interest in movement, technique and self-defence.

I took a short break along the way before returning to training at the age of 14. In total, I trained in Wing Tsun for approximately two years. During that time, I got to know many different techniques and developed an initial understanding of martial arts.

Over time, however, I wanted to try something new and eventually found my way to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or BJJ for short. There, I discovered a martial art that I now enjoy enormously. What I particularly enjoy is the combination of technique, strategy and physical challenge.

Today, BJJ is an important part of my sporting life. I want to keep developing in BJJ, learn new techniques and continually improve my skills in training.

My passion for martial arts began with kickboxing in 2003, a discipline in which I gained my first competitive experience at national championships. In search of a deeper understanding of effective self-defence, the later stages of my journey took me through Yoseikan Budo and Aikido and eventually to MSD in 2012, which I have practised with great interest ever since. To fully round out my repertoire in standing and ground fighting, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and Wing Tsun have also enriched my training since 2025.

My practical sporting experience is complemented by my training as a fitness and health exercise instructor. This allows me to combine effective techniques with varied and sustainable fitness training in my classes.

Martial arts are much more than physical training to me: they are the ideal counterbalance to everyday life and an opportunity to keep developing among like-minded people and learn from one another.

I enjoy teaching people, seeing their progress and watching them become increasingly confident. My goal is not only to teach you effective techniques — I want to strengthen your self-confidence and give you the courage to stay calm, focused and strong, even in tense situations. Each session is a chance for me to inspire you and give you something valuable to take into your life.
